BEWARE OF JOB FRAUDS
Red Flags of Job Frauds
• Subtle Signs: Unprofessional emails, vague job descriptions, requests for payment, and offers without
applying.
• Email communication with employer seems dubious, contains typos, grammatical errors, or has an
unprofessional tone.
• Job description reads like a riddle or lacks specific details.
• Payment for Employment - no reputable employer asks for money upfront!
• SURPRISE! You got the job without applying...be cautious!
• Guard your financial details like a fortress - legitimate employers do not need your bank information or
social security details upfront; this includes your passport or driver’s license information.
• Report it! Fighting fraud is a group effort and your vigilance protects not only you, but others as well.
Report suspicious job offers to The Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3).
• IC3 reveals a disconcerting truth - from 2018 to 2022, 3.26M complaints were lodged, with losses
totaling a staggering $27.6B.
